Pernicious Prevaricators and Other Peevish Personalities

Dapper private eye Randy Reinisch steers his Austin Healey back into Westview after a two-year absence and drives straight into the town’s current high-profile scandal—the drug trial of Hudson Winnock. But when bodies begin to pile up, Randy must uncover what’s going on or risk becoming a statistic himself.

Also unexpectedly arriving in town is the mid-Atlantic mob’s don, Clams Casino. While he may bear a hearty laugh and a friendly handshake, Clams’ presence brings displeasure to many, especially his “employee” Ruth Branch and her ethically-challenged attorney, Charlie Smith. Ruth and Charlie, who have pulled out all the stops to frame Hudson, must deal not only with Clams, but also a pesky blackmailer.

Elsewhere, Len Castleberry’s fate is revealed, leading to both celebration and sorrow. Richard Devonshire’s world crumbles, causing him to rethink his very existence.  And, yes, someone once again ends up catatonic in the mental ward.  This is a soap opera, after all.
